Frequently visited web sites are dynamically cached on the Internet Gateway system. This not only reduces bandwidth, but also speeds up web browsing.
Content Filter
The content filter not only blocks inappropriate sites on the web, but also allows you to control what can be downloaded on your network. The software includes filters for:
- Pornographic material
- Non-business related material (personal webmail)
- File types (MP3s, potential viruses)
- Streaming types (music, video)
Bandwidth Manager
The bandwidth manager provides a simple but flexible way to control your network usage:
- Reserve bandwidth for certain applications (VoIP)
- Limit bandwidth for non-critical applications
- Limit bandwidth based on IP address
Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Manager
Peer-to-peer file sharing applications can quietly eat away at your bandwidth usage and interfere with more important network traffic. Internet Gateway includes tools to limit peer-to-peer traffic on your network.
VPN and Firewall Management
IPsec VPN
The IPsec VPN software lets you securely connect remote office networks. For instance, a sales office in Melbourne can be linked to a manufacturing facility in Adeladie. The Internet Gateway also include a tool to make connecting systems a simple point-and-click away.
PPTP VPN
PPTP VPN is a simple and cost-effective way to connect Windows Desktop systems to the network behind your Gateway system. There's no need to purchase extra licenses for your Windows systems -- the software is already built-in to Windows XP.
Stateful Firewall
Thanks to the power of the underlying operating system (Linux), the Gateway system is able to leverage the best firewall tools in the industry.
1-to-1 NAT and DMZ
For those with more complex networks, the 1-to-1 NAT and DMZ features are available.
Intrusion Detection and Prevention
Every hour, there are dozens (if not hundreds) of attacks coming down your Internet connection. The intrusion detection provides daily and monthly reporting to keep you informed.The intrusion prevention system actively and dynamically blocks unwanted traffic from the Internet.
Multi-WAN / Dual-WAN
With multi-WAN support, you can have two or more connections to the Internet. These connections can be used for load-balancing and automatic failover.
DHCP Server
The ability to supply IP addresses to systems on your network is included in our standard DHCP server.
Caching DNS Server
The caching DNS server not only speeds up DNS requests, but also provides a simple way to implement internal DNS entries for the systems on your local network.
