A ClearTown is connected to the Internet via either a high-grade two-way satellite service or a "terrestrial" link. Individual homes and businesses in a ClearTown are connected via an externally mounted fixed wireless subscriber unit (which can often simply be added to a pre-existing television antenna).
The ClearTown service comes standard with access to both the Internet and the "community network". The latter refers to a customer's ability to securely send and receive data to and from other ClearTown users at high speeds. These speeds are ideal for network gaming (via a PC, Xbox or similar), VoIP and other applications where very high speeds are required.
As an added bonus, all traffic internal to a ClearTown - within the community network - is not billed to the customer. So ClearTown users can send and receive data, VoIP phone calls (in stage 2) and other services within their community network… 24 hours a day, 7 days a week completely FREE!
